Zakynthos

Zakynthos

Denis and Mirjam chose the island of Zakynthos for their intimate wedding, and it suited them perfectly. Both are professional tennis players, and outside of the sport their lives are full and fast. This day was the opposite. Just their closest people, turquoise water, and time to be still together.

They are both incredibly warm, the kind of people who make everyone around them feel at ease. And then there was the dog, who had a starring role as ring bearer and stole more than a few moments during the ceremony. It was one of those details that made the day feel completely theirs.

Zakynthos gave us everything a destination wedding in Greece can offer. Golden light that lasted for hours, rugged cliffs dropping into the sea, and that particular warmth that the Mediterranean puts in the air. For a photographer, it is one of the most generous places to work. Every corner has its own mood, and the light does half the job for you.

If you are planning a destination wedding or elopement in Greece, whether on Zakynthos, Santorini, Crete, or the mainland, I would love to hear about it. I travel from Scandinavia to photograph weddings across Europe, and I am especially drawn to couples who want something small, personal, and real.
